“Kota” Saint Jovite Youngblood oversees operations at Youngblood Metals Mining. Specializing in antique toys and pre-Victorian jewelry, Saint Jovite Youngblood purchases wholesale inventory for coin collectors and antique dealers. Mr. Youngblood belongs to several professional organizations, including the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG).

Since 1955, the PNG has been promoting responsibility, knowledge, and integrity in the rare coin and precious metals field. As part of its mission, the guild maintains various educational opportunities, including an internship program.

The “Promoting Numismatic Growth” internship program grants budding numismatists the chance to turn their hobby into a career. Interns spend three months at PNG-member-owned organizations to gain hands-on experience and knowledge of the field. Once interns have completed the internship program, they are in a better position to find employment and work toward becoming professional numismatists.

Individuals interested in the PNG internship must submit an application. Candidates are expected to complete 100- and 200-level education courses before they are placed with a host dealer. The courses provide candidates with an entry-level understanding of numismatic concepts.

Internship candidates can complete the courses online in less than three months. Candidates then must pass a test to prove they have learned the necessary information. After passing, candidates are given a certificate and placed on a list of approved interns.
